VJ Sunny, a 32-year-old South Indian actor, was born on 17 August 1989 in Khammam, Telangana. Apart from being an actor, he is a video jockey by profession.

FAMILY
Arun Reddy was born to Venkateshwarulu and a doctor who works in a government hospital, Kalavathi. He has a sister, Rajitha Devi.

EDUCATION
VJ Sunny attended Mary’s College, Yousufguda, Hyderabad, to complete his schooling. He did a Bachelor of Commerce from Osmania University, Hyderabad, Telangana.
CAREER
He always wanted to become an actor. After completing his education, he began focussing on his career and joined a theatre group in Hyderabad to improve his acting skills. He started with acting in many theatre plays. Sunny then appeared in Allaudin (theatre play), after which he gained immense popularity. Apart from acting, he also hosted a TV show called Just For Men.
Subsequently, he appeared as a lifestyle journalist and talked with numerous distinguished personalities. In an interview, while talking about his journey, Arun said,
Even when I was a journalist and would do interviews, I always wondered what it would be like to be on the other side of the camera – it was always my dream to be an actor. As a journalist, I did my part of society and mow as an actor, I want to entertain people. When I was taking interviews of celebrities, I always had a dream to pursue acting. I am a theatre student and I like dramas and acting. Although I started my career as a journalist I always wanted to get into the field of acting.”
In 2017, Arun debuted as a television actor with the Telugu serial Kalyana Vaibhogam alongside Meghana Lokesh.
In the following year, he participated as a contestant in the dance reality show Dance Jodi Dance.
His debut film as a lead actor was Sakala Gunabhi Rama (2021), opposite Ashima Narval.

It was a secret that I did not want to reveal. I wanted people to know me only as sunny and not Arun Reddy. I wanted my screen name to be Sunny since my childhood as I had a bike, which I christened Sunny and people used to address me as Sunny and that’s how I chose my screen name.”
- While giving an interview, he disclosed that how his mother became his biggest inspiration. Arun added,
My mother always wanted to be an actress; however, she could not pursue her dream as no one encouraged her when she was younger. She supported my decision and, I am proud to say that my mother Kalavathi is the reason why I pursued acting.”
- In 2018, after he went out of the show, Kalyana Vaibhogam, there were gossips that he quarrelled with the makers of the show. In an interview, he cleared all such rumours and told,
There is no truth in these speculations. I still have a great rapport with the Kalyana Vaibhogam team and the channel as well. It’s just that my contract with the makers of the show has expired and I chose to move on with my other work-related commitments. This 1000-episode journey will stay with me forever.”
The actor extended,
I had a clean and cordial exit. It was a great working experience with the team which loved me so much, appreciated my work and encouraged me all the while. I want to gracefully move on with the same support and best wishes.”
