Maithili Jawkar (born on 25th January 1980) is an actress, producer, social activist, and politician. She has worked in Marathi movies and Hindi television serials. She is a participant of Bigg Boss 2 Marathi version. During the grand premiere of Bigg Boss 2 Marathi, host Mahesh Manjrekar invited Maithili Jawkar as the Queen of Marathi Films.
Biography:
Actress Maithili Jawkar entered the entertainment industry with an aim to serve people and bring a smile on their faces. The actress got her first break in 2006 in a Marathi film Aayi Mala Maaf Kara. She soon realized that movies and music are not the only medium of serving society and hence she soon joined politics. She is an active member of Bhartiya Janta Party.
Family:
The actress belongs to a Deshastha Brahmin Family. She belongs to Mumbai, Maharastra. She has a brother named Yashodhan Dighe. Maithili Jawkar’s marital status is single.
Education:
Maithili Jawkar completed her primary education from New English School, Dapoli, Maharashtra. She got enrolled in Ramnarain Ruia College, Mumbai, Maharashtra and completed her masters in Hindi Literature.
Career:
Maithili Jawkar was always interested in acting. She used to participate in school plays and college theatre acts. She has also done street plays in communal functions in her society. The actress debuted in Marathi cinema in 2006 from the movie Aayi Mala Maaf Kara directed by Anant Mane. In 2010, she featured in Mulga and Marmabandh. In 2011, she acted in Sansarachi. The actress turned producer in 2015 and produced Chabu weds Babu alongside Raju Bang. She also tried her hand in Hindi television and acted in a serial titled Hoshiyar.
The actress actively conducts functions for the Indian Army. In 2017, Maithili Jawkar became a member of Maharashtra State Censor Board and in some time she grabbed the CEO position of the board.
Controversy:
The actress filed an FIR against the BJP Yuva Morcha president, Ganesh Pandey in 2016. She accused the president of molesting her and passing lewd comments about her. She reported that Ganesh Pandey invited her in the room with false intentions. Ganesh Pandey soon resigned from the president’s post and blamed Maithili Jawkar for framing him under false charges. He said that Maithili Jawkar and many of her aides are conspiring against him.

Maithili Jawkar is a traveller. She loves dancing and in her free time, she listens to music and watches movies. She has been learning Karate from past 6 years. She is a professional swimmer and jockey.
Journey in Bigg Boss:
Maithili Jawkar was one of the contestants of Bigg Boss season 2 Marathi. She had a terrific journey in the BB 2 Marathi house. She has set a benchmark for the rest of the contestants in terms of patience and calm. She never got involved in any fights inside the house. Once she was being provoked by co-contestant, but she decided to use silence as her weapon. The actress was titled as the coolest person in the Bigg Boss house.
